Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons, and you will find that it is to the soul what the water-bath is to the body. I take both daily ha ha.. :). I feel music is the only form of art that has the power of influencing human soul and nature. I don't know when or how I got addicted to music. In my early ages I saw my brothers singing and winning prizes at the schools. Thus I also developed a taste for music. I must thank my parents for encouraging whatever tastes I had in music and painting and getting those old LPs, music cassettes and Water colors for us. So far, I haven't developed my opinion or dislike for any kind of music. I listen and enjoy all genres of music ranging from Carnatic classical to Psychedelic rocks.

Music I like! I told you I listen to all kinds of music. I would say that the Malayalam film music has the most melodious songs compared to other languages( of course with exemptions of Tamil,Old Hindi and Bengali). Tunes of MS Baburaj, Devarajan, PB Srinivas and Dakshinamurthy are just superb. Then there is the legendary play back singer Dr. KJ Yesudas. He can be considered as the greatest singer of India.The quality that separates Malayalam songs from other language songs are the meaningful lyrics contributed by great writers like Vayalar and ONV krurp. They range from love affairs to Philosophy.In the current scenario, the best melodies in Malayalam are produced by Vidyasagar, who is from Andhrapradesh.Musicians like Jonson and Kaithapram are also writing good music.

My mother is a great fan of Old Hindi songs; she and the 'Delhi Doordarshan' s Rangoli had formed my taste for old Hindi songs. I like most of the Mohd.Rafi, Hemant Kumar, Kishore, Manna dey and Lata-Asha hits. My favorite Hindi music directors are Madan Mohan,Ravi, Salil Chowdhary, S.D. and R.D Burman, Lakshmikant Pyarelal, Ravindra Jain, Khayyam and Kalyanji Anandji. Anand Bakshi is the man with a golden pen, who writes such meaningful and attractive lyrics. The " lyrics machines" of the modern times have to just hide somewhere infront of this great writer.In modern times, Nadeem Shravan and Jatin-Lalit did provide some good Music.Vishal Bharadwaj also showed some glimpses of genius. The tune lifting Annu Malik and Band is just horrible.

The King of Melodies, Ilayaraja is a superb musician. His Melodies from late 70s and 80s are just magical. He is my greatest composer of all times.I like Tamil Movie songs because of the magical touch of this maestro. His follower, A.R Rahman is also a genius in creating harmony and great instrumental music. But his melodies don't stay for long.

I am a big fan of The Beatles and I have almost all the albums released by the Fab four. I used to listen to Brayan Adams and Phil collins right from my school days itself. Brayan Adams' Best of Me is a must have. I had been to his Best of Me live show last year here in Bangalore.My favorite list includes The Doors, The Scorpions,U2, Air Supply and Ronan Keating.

About Digital Music: Now lets talk about digital music.The best media player available for windows is Winamp. It is enriched by lot of plug-ins-Both Visualization and DSP output. The plug ins I am using right now are the DSP Enhancer and Sexy Attached Analyzers v1.61(Vis satan) visualization. These two are the ultimate plug-ins according to me-take my word for that. The Best Winamp Skin I have seen is the Britney spears Skin.Here is Winamp palying on my desktop!
